Kerikeri Bay of Islands Northland New Zealand

Kerikeri, Bay of Islands

We are lucky to be based in Kerikeri, one of New Zealand's top visitor attractions and a perfect location to stay during your Northland visit. Based in the stunning subtropical Bay of Islands, Kerikeri offers plenty of local attractions. Big game fishing, scuba diving, swimming, golfing, diving and boating, everything is possible here. The city centre is vibrant and has lots of nice shops, arts & crafts, excellent cafes and quality restaurants.

Kerikeri and the area are not only known for citrus fruit, but there is an abundancy of fresh local produce available all year. Fruit, vegetables, wines, olive oil, chocolates, tea, cheese, just to name a few. There is a Farmers' Market every Sunday morning in the town centre.

Being New Zealand's first missionary settlement, Kerikeri has quite a rich local history and a lot of interesting sites. Visit the Stone Store, Kemp House, Rewa's village or Waimate Mission House, they are all nearby.

The area

Paihia, another well know tourist destination is very close and offers attractions like dolpin watching, sailing and other boat cruises. Or cross over to romantic Russell with the ferry.
Going north from Kerikeri is the Far North, with Cape Reinga and its famous Lighthouse. Gumdiggers park, Kauri forests, Ninety Mile beach and Te Paki Sanddunes are just a few of the other attractions. And all along the way there is a variety of stunning beaches.
